How to share your iPhone or iPad screen to a Mac or another device
Screen Share shows an iPhone or iPad on another device nearby, with the app’s sound, while you keep using other apps. On a Mac, it can sit in a group next to your camera for demos and tutorials.
What you need
- An iPhone or iPad with iOS 17 or later
- Another iPhone or iPad, or a Mac with macOS 26 or later
- Both on the same local network
Steps
Start Screen Share
Screen Share on the home screen. Pick any extra outputs (NDI®, Browser) first, then Start Screen Share and confirm the system broadcast.
Watch it on the other device
iPhone or iPad: Director, from what is broadcasting nearby. Mac: under Devices in Mirage for Mac. Pair with the six-digit code the sharing device shows.
Switch apps
Go to the app you want to show. Its sound goes with the picture; the microphone doesn’t.
Make a tutorial on your Mac
Put the shared screen and a camera in one group in Mirage for Mac: the camera floats in a bubble over the screen. Record it, stream it, or use it in a call through Mirage Camera.
If it doesn’t work
- The other device can’t find it: see Devices can’t see each other.
- Part of the screen is black: some apps block capture of protected content.
- A third device can’t connect: two devices can watch a Screen Share at once.
Questions
