Capture-card input requires a compatible iPad; iPhones can watch an iPad’s stream but cannot enumerate UVC capture cards. Connect a UVC capture card, allow Camera access, open Capture Card, and tap Detect Capture Card. Check the cable, adapter, power, and source signal. A direct HDMI cable is not sufficient.

Connect both devices to the same reachable local network. Start a Mirage Broadcast from Capture Card or Camera Settings, or start Screen Share. On the receiving device, open Watch a Stream, scan, select the source, and enter its six-digit pairing code. Each Mirage broadcast supports one receiving Mirage device at a time.

Allow Local Network access for Mirage in system Settings on both devices. Guest Wi-Fi, router client isolation, firewalls, or a VPN may block local discovery or connections even when both devices show the same Wi-Fi name. Check the broadcasting device is still sharing, then scan again.

Open Screen Share in Mirage, choose any extra outputs, and tap Start Screen Share. Start the broadcast in the system controls, then switch apps. To stop, use the system broadcast indicator or return to Mirage and open Stop Screen Share. Some protected content cannot be shared.

Mirage and NDI outputs include available audio from the shared app. Browser Screen Share is video-only. Screen Share does not capture the microphone. Camera mode separately supports microphone audio and a master mute control.

For Camera, open Camera Settings → Browser and start the stream. For Screen Share, enable Browser before starting. Open the displayed http:// address on another device on the same network; don’t change it to https://. Keep Mirage open for Camera streaming. Tap the browser’s audio button to hear Camera audio; Screen Share browser streams have no audio.

Start NDI in Camera Settings, or enable NDI before starting Screen Share. Use compatible NDI receiving software; OBS needs an NDI receiver plugin. Look for the Mirage source on the same network. If it doesn’t appear, check local permissions, firewall settings, and the receiving software’s setup.

Camera recordings stay in Mirage’s Documents folder, accessible in Files under On My iPhone or On My iPad → Mirage. The Recording page offers playback and sharing for the last saved recording. Saving another copy to Photos is optional. Capture-card screenshots are saved to Photos with your permission.

Camera supports compatible Xbox, PlayStation, and MFi controllers connected through the system. Open Camera Settings → Game Controller to see and remap supported buttons. Zoom triggers and right-stick pan remain analog controls. Available inputs depend on the controller.

No. Capture-card zebras, focus peaking, and false color are display-only. Mirage broadcasts and saved screenshots use the clean source. These overlays belong to Capture Card mode.

Mirage does not require a Mirage account or a cloud relay for local video. Streaming devices need to reach each other on the local network. Internet access is used when you open external links such as the App Store, support, or this website.
